Installation Steps
Please note: ZoomText is no longer available for installation except in special circumstances. Instead, please utilize MAGic, a product by the makers of JAWS, which provides equivalent functionality with increased compatibility and better network management. ZoomText network installations are no longer available and must be specially requested. Please use the contact information section of this document if there is the need for a special request.

You will be asked if you want to disable Speech output during Setup. If you do not need or want Speech, you can disable it.

Choose Automatic Installation. The default settings will be used.

After installation is complete, choose to reboot.

After rebooting, you should see a ZoomText 9.0 icon on your desktop, as well as in your Program Files section. If your computer is personally owned, or not part of the OSU Active Directory Domain, then you will need to run the AT Loader before you start ZoomText 9.0.
Post-Installation Instructions
Each installation of ZoomText needs to be setup to automatically save settings for each user, otherwise, individuals may not have their settings stored. To configure this, start ZoomText, and click on Settings, Program, and ensure that the checkbox next to “Save ZoomText settings automatically before exiting”. All other options should be fine as they are.
Ensuring Proper Operation

Run the AT Loader program. This program should be prominently available on the desktop.2. Type your O-Key username and password3. Select “ZoomText” from the Radio Button list.

Click “Start”. The AT Loader will minimize and ZoomText will run. This may take a few moments.

If either of the two following messages pop up, then the installation was either invalid, or there are network or server problems. Check with the lab manager or the IT Announcements to confirm. If there are no known or reported issues, then report the software as having failed.

ZoomText should load, even after clicking on Continue. The screen will noticeably magnify and ZoomText will begin tracking the screen. If there are any other error messages, then the software has not been installed properly.
