Installation StepsIf you wish to setup WYNN to work with a scanner (optional), this new version of WYNN automatically finds your scanner, so you no longer need to specify scanner drivers during installation. If you have an older version of WYNN on your computer, the install program will ask if you want to uninstall the older version before installing the newer one. The uninstall process will not remove your documents or settings files. We recommend that you uninstall your older version, but you do not need to do so. You may be asked to login to the server. If so, provide your O-Key email address (

) and your O-Key password. Double-click the item entitled “WYNN 5.1 Install.exe” The installer will begin. You will be given the option to choose to install both AT&T Natural Voice Fonts and the RealSpeak Voice Engine. At this point, it is recommended that you install the RealSpeak engine for most installations. Public computer labs should install all the options to allow for maximum compatibility. The installer will begin extracting the files. Once extraction is complete, the installation for WYNN 5.1 will run. Accept the license agreement, read through the Readme, and provide the name and Company information. Select the “Typical” install, and click Next. The installer will indicate that it is “Searching for Launchable Applications.” This will take a few moments. After this, the installer will begin copying files. After the installer has completed, you may be asked to reboot. Select “No.” You will be given the opportunity to reboot in a few moments after the AT&T Natural Voices installation has completed. The main installer will automatically begin the AT&T Natural Voices setup. Once this setup is complete, you will be asked to reboot. Choose “Reboot Now.” After rebooting, you should see a WYNN 5.1 icon on your desktop, as well as in your Program Files section. If your computer is personally owned, or not part of the OSU Active Directory Domain, then you will need to run the AT Loader before you start WYNN 5.1.
Post-Installation ConfigurationYou will need to access the Display Properties. The most common method of achieving this is to right click on the Desktop and select Properties. Select the Appearance Tab. Click on the “Effects” button. De-select the “Hide Underlined letters for keyboard navigation until I press the Alt key” checkmark box. Only on systems connected to a scanner, start the software, complete the login process by choosing a guest user account or creating your own, and click OK. Go to Advanced, and select “Scanner Selection”. If this system is connected to a scanner, and drivers for the scanner have been properly installed, then the software should be setup to use it. In the drop down box in “Scanner Selection”, if anything other than “No Scanner” shows up, then the installation was not successful. Again, this is only for systems with a scanner physically connected to the machine. Select the TWAIN driver for the scanner. WIA drivers tend to be significantly slower. In the case above in the screenshot, the proper selection would be “Unknown Twain using: EPSON TWAIN 5.” Select OK and exit the program.
Ensuring Proper InstallationRun the AT Loader program. This program should be prominently available on the desktop. Type your O-Key username and password Select “WYNN” from the Radio Button list. Click “Start”. The AT Loader will minimize and WYNN will run. This may take a few moments. If a window similar to the following pops-up, the installation was not successful. Please report this to the lab manager. WYNN should load. If a screen asking you to login does not show, then the installation was not successful. The screen should look like the following. Check for audio. WYNN will ask the user to login. If there is no audio accompanying the login box, the installation was not successful. Only on systems connected to a scanner, complete the login process by choosing a guest user account or creating your own, and clicking OK. Go to Advanced, and select “Scanner Selection”. If this system is connected to a scanner, then the software should be setup to use it. In the drop down box in “Scanner Selection”, if anything other than “No Scanner” shows up, then the installation was not successful. Again, this is only for systems with a scanner physically connected to the machine.
